CAPE "plays back" real waveform data to patient monitoring
equipment. Any database stored in the MIT-BIH format is
compatible with the CAPE software.

A demonstration version of cape software is provided with
this CD. It is fully operational in its waveform display and
manipulation capabilities. In order to utilize
CAPE to drive monitors, however, a custom IBM-PC
compatible board is required for conversion of patient
waveforms into ECG electrode and pressure transducer
equivalents. The full CAPE system consists of fifty
4 minute data excerpts from the MGH/MF database.
These excerpts are categorized to represent a broad variety
of cardiac arrhythmia and hemodynamic conditions found in
a patient care setting. For more information on the
CAPE system please contact:

To run demo version of CAPE, copy contents of this
directory onto your computer's hard disk, then invoke
CAPE by typing:
		CAPE <filename>
where <filename> is the full path of the data file without
the extension. For example if the CD-ROM drive is assigned
letter D:, to call up data file mgh001:

		CAPE D:\mghdb\mgh001

Once running the software, use menus "Select Epoch" "Custom File"
to select a different data file.

A copy of the user's guide is available in postscript format as:
guide.ps

CAPE is compatible with an IBM-PC hardware with CGA, EGA or VGA
graphics. A Microsoft compatible mouse is required and must be
loaded before cape is invoked.
